Bronze Pygmy
-

Description
’Bronze Pygmy’ is an unusual hinoki cypress that exhibits chameleonic transitions through the changing seasons. Also known in the trade as ’Pygmaea Aurescens’, this selection forms a dense rounded mat of fern-like foliage. In spring and early summer, the foliage is a zesty lemon-lime with darker green undertones and then becomes mostly green by late Summer. The plant then shifts to outstanding shades of copper and gold with the onset of colder weather. A perfect plant for injecting brightness into the winter garden, ’Bronze Pygmy’ will mature at about 4-5’ tall x 6-8’ wide. Zone 5.
