Crataegus crus-galli, commonly called cockspur thorn, is sometimes seen as a dense, low-branched, broad-rounded tree to 25-35’ with horizontal branching. 'Cruzam', commonly sold under the trade name of CRUSADER, is a thornless plant with a slightly more compact shape. Some authorities currently list thornless forms of C. crus-galli as var. inermis (meaning unarmed).
