• Description

The giant redwood is one of the largest and longest lived trees in the world.  They are native to the western slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California.  Planted outside of their native range, mature sizes will be significantly smaller, but  still large, usually 40 to 60 ft.  They will lose their lower branches as they age, much like our native pine

They are best located in cool, moist climates with consistent moisture.  They will grow in sandy loam-type soil with a consistent temperature range.  It will not tolerate drastic climate changes or clay soil.
