Pieris Karenoma is an interspecial cross between Pieris japonica and the North American species Pieris floribunda. The result is an attractive evergreen shrub with somewhat rounded dark green foliage. The terminal panicles of small bell-shaped flowers tend to start out more upright than on P. japonica. But as they develop and lenghthen they arch outward in a more familiar fashion. The young growth is red.
