‘Kasagiyama’ has one of the most striking reticulated variegated leaves of the Japanese maples. The outside of the leaf has a bright brick red to lavender coloration divided by bright yellow and green veins. The Japanese mapletree is upright but bushy in its growth habit. ‘Kasagiyama’ can get up to 8-12 foot tall in 20 years. As with most variegated Japanese maples, Kasagiyama grows best in filtered light and maintains better colors when it is not subjected to late afternoon sun
