‘Lionheart’ is a surberb red laceleaf selection of Japanese maple. ‘Lionheart’ leafs out in the spring as a pink-red to bright red turning maroon for a big part of the year. During late summer, ‘Lionheart’ may turn to shades of bronze, before turning orange to crimson red in the fall. The most unique thing is its growth habit, often reaching upward when young. With age it develops a weeping habit, creating a layered, arching effect.
