Shigarami' leafs out in the early spring with a heavily divided bright green leaf that highlighted with a rich purple red border. When given protection from the hot afternoon sun, this border holds well into the summer.  

In the fall, 'Shigarami' starts out as bright yellow, slowly changing to a bright orange. To finish this fall display, hints of fire engine red engulf the terminal branching overtop of the bright oranges and yellows.  'Shigarami' will reach 10-12 ft by 8-10 ft in width in 15 years.
