A dwarf upright selection of Caucasian spruce with stunning white frosting on the upper surfaces of its branches. Slow growing when young, 'Silver Seedling' will eventually accelerate in growth with age. A ten year old specimen in the landscape may reach 2.5 feet (70 cm) in height. Beyond that, it is not unusual for healthy plants to grow more than 1 foot (30 cm) per year. Because of the bright white foliage, this plant is not recommended to be planted where it will be exposed to hot afternoon sun.
