'White Lights' is a member of the Northern Lights series. Northern Lights azaleas were bred by the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum to be very hardy and to have flower buds that can withstand temperatures of -30 to -45 degrees F. They may be grown in Zone 3 with protection. 'White Lights' is a hybrid of Rhododendron prinophyllum and a white flowered Exbury hybrid. The flower buds are delicate pale pink and open to a 1 3/4" fragrant, white flower with a slight yellow blotch. It has a rounded spreading habit and grows 4 to 5 ft. tall and wide.
